Everything Serena holds dear to her heart is being snatched away from her. Silenced by her pain and betrayed by the love of her life, Serena's own life-altering decisions will rock her family to the core. She questions whether the God she's served most of her life is really for her. Was everything she worked for all in vain?
I would love to write Urban Romance. I'm a romantic at heart and love to see Black love abound. Although, it's fiction work, it's the vision of producing strong characters who are able to sustain a monogamous relationship through test and trial.
If you were to create a spin off of Up Pops the Devil with one of your supporting characters, which one would it be and why?
Melissa Wright. She's the woman everyone loves to hate because of her role in the book. I would love to place her in a different light after her storm.
What is one thing you would have done differently at the beginning of your writing career with the knowledge that you have now?
I would forfeit the mindless chatter of self editing. I was horrible at it and even though I'm getting better, I still wished I would have used my money in having my work edited by a professional.
What is it that you'd like readers to walk away with after reading Up Pops the Devil?
It is my hope that readers will walk away with a renewed sense of healing, restoration and inspiration.
What is a hidden talent or favorite pastime that you enjoy that may surprise others?
Roller skating. I love to roller skate with my nine year old daughter.
